Mr. Steve Bowman and Mr. Garry Hall visited Mrs. Denise Barker's VU credit English class and gave two very different perspectives of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Bowman served aboard the helicopter carrier Iwo Jima. The navy men onboard were an Amphibious Assault group, sometimes, called Gator Navy. This particular ship carried three thousand Marines onboard. Mr. Hall served as a commander for an M48A3, mid-sized Patton tank. His tank was destroyed by the Viet Cong, and he and his men spent a harrowing night surrounded by Viet Cong before rescue.

The students shared lunch with the men after the presentation and were reluctant to leave. Both men were impressed with the level of respect shown to them and the students' level of questions.
